Ylang-Ylang (Cananga odorata), or Bunga Kenanga, is a fast-growing tropical tree producing drooping, star-shaped flowers with one of the most complex floral fragrances in nature. sweet, spicy, and heady. The oil is used in perfumery worldwide and in Malaysian wedding traditions and traditional aromatherapy.
Full sun to partial shade. Ylang-Ylang responds quickly to light quality; weak light usually gives lanky growth and slower recovery after pruning or harvest.
20°C - 32°C (68°F - 90°F). Ylang-Ylang handles Malaysian warmth well, but sudden cold drafts or heat spikes can shock tissues and slow recovery.
